Sales Representative -Inside Sales

Independent Chemical Corporation, is a distributor of Chemical Ingredients to Industry. We have exclusive distribution agreements with both domestic and international manufacturers for products that provide technological and marketing advantage to industry, and we seek an individual to join our Inside Sales Team working within our Glendale, NY or Paterson, NJ offices. This role will include inbound and outbound calls across a wide variety of industries.

The position is office based and involves connecting with Customers and Potential Customers to look for opportunities based on our product offerings. Your offerings will be to a wide range of manufacturing industries including Cosmetics, Detergents, Paints & Coatings, Laundry, Pharma, and more, where the most efficient means to support the customer will be office based.   

You will be expected to understand your customer's new product objectives and help them use our offerings to create lasting competitive advantage and value from our unique product offerings, in addition to selling our commodity offerings. Representatives submit weekly activity reports, which will highlight sales success, accounts, and efforts in progress towards sales, create sales plans to meet revenue targets, summarizes calls on both Research and Purchasing contacts, arrange samples and ultimately quotes, You will call on current accounts and new accounts ranging from small private businesses to multi-nationals, where you can create a win-win outcome, while our office handles the logistics. Responsibilities

  • Develops, maintains, and communicates sales plan
  • Presents and sells company products and services to new and existing customers
  • Negotiates price with customers to reach a win-win sale
  • Prospects and contacts potential customers
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with clients
  • Attends trade shows to promote products and interact with potential customers
  • Reaches agreed upon sales targets by the deadline
  • Demonstrates goal-oriented business-to-business sales performance and success
  • Learns new and varied chemical product lines and their applications in the industries that use our products
  • Resolves customer inquiries and complaints
  • Sets follow-up appointments to keep customers aware of latest developments
  • Creates sales material to present to customers
  • Submits weekly activity reports on time

Experience & Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years required in business-to-business sales of chemicals, ingredients, additives or other technical products  industry within the territory
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in chemistry biology, environmental sciences , or similar science
  • Able to demonstrate strong grasp of chemistry, especially how customers use chemicals, ingredients, and additives, and how our products can offset competitive products or offer competitive advantage.
  • Demonstrates superior sales negotiation skills and high EQ
  • Possesses effective communication skills to develop and maintain relationships with customers, peers, and management
  • Highly organized self-starter and Agressive Hunter, and detail-oriented problem-solver
  • Punctual, responsible, professional, personable, and dedicated
