Tridecyl Salicylate is a synthetic skin conditioner, emollient, and UV absorber used in cosmetics, functioning as a sunscreen solvent and photostabilizer, not an exfoliant like its parent acid (salicylic acid). It forms a protective layer on skin to retain moisture, blocks harmful UV rays, helps stabilize formulas, and acts as a preservative, found in moisturizers, sunscreens, and hair products.
